What Clothes Do You Wear as a Teacher?
Are you a new teacher looking for some help on what to wear? Let me help you! A teacher’s dress code is typically described as business casual. As a plus size teacher we want to be stylish but also comfortable. There are a few wardrobe pieces I would make sure I have on hand. I would always make sure you have a cozy cardigan for those days when it’s too chilly in your classroom, and you’re able to take it off before recess duty! I love grabbing affordable cute cardigans from Target, and Old Navy. If you have a little wiggle room in your budget, check out Nordstrom, Free People, or Madewell. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on a cardigan, but this is a wardrobe capsule piece you could get away with spending extra money on because they will always be stylish.
The next item you will want to grab for your teacher wardrobe would be a good pair of elastic waistband pants. I love shopping at Old Navy for pants. If you have a little more room in your budget, check out Loft. Both of these shops have great teacher workwear options at pretty decent prices. Investing in a good pair of elastic waistband pants will be great especially if you’re an elementary school teacher.
The final item I would invest in for your teacher wardrobe would be a couple of basic neutral shirts. We love neutral shirts you can mix and match with skirts, and pants! My favorite basic shirts are from Target. Target shirts are usually under $10 which fits right into the teacher budget!
Plus Size Teacher Dresses You Should Really Check Out
I use to love wearing dresses as a teacher (with shapewear underneath to prevent chafing). My favorite store to shop for plus size friendly dresses would be Target, Old Navy, and Walmart. These stores are very teacher budget friendly, and they have so many cute options! If you’re looking for shapewear I would invest in a pair from Spanx or SOMA. Shapewear is an item in my curvy style wardrobe I invest in because they are the best.

Looking for some really comfy, cozy teacher outfits for a Friday? I got you! Anytime I was able to dress down for school days I took full advantage. Items I would gravitate towards for a plus size teacher comfy outfit would be linen pants, joggers, and a great graphic tee.
