How to Host a Fun Kid Friendly Witches Brunch – Halloween Party Idea

Sharing is caring!

how to have a kids halloween party - witches brunch

Are you looking for ideas on hosting a halloween tea party? This post will share how to throw a fun witches breakfast for your elementary child! We hosted a Witches Brunch last year for Nora Grace and it was so much fun. I wanted to share the halloween themed party games we played, along with the halloween themed crafts I grabbed from Amazon. Hosting a witches brunch may seem like a ton of work, but I promise as long as you have a schedule, and things to keep the kids busy, it will be the best party ever.

What is a Kid Friendly Witches Themed Brunch?

This decor was so great for the witches brunch and most of it I used in my home for fall!

A witches brunch is a really fun brunch with your best girlfriends with all hocus pocus/halloween themed items. I like to host this brunch the weekend before Halloween (this allows people to still carry on with their plans). When we hosted one for my elementary aged daughter, we made the theme witches, with lots of pink and purple colored schemes! I went to Amazon for all the decor, games, and hosting items! Dollar tree also has some great items to use for a great witch themed halloween party for kids!

I have attached an itinerary we used for Nora’s party and I would say it went very well. We were busy all the way up until the kiddos went home. Another tip I would give you would be inviting all girls or all boys. This helped us a lot because it was only half of her class rather than 20 little kids in my house! Of course you can mix and match but for us we wanted it to be super girly so we stuck to all the girls from the class. We hosted the party from 10-12 which was more than enough time. While kids are coming in direct them to the food, have them sit and mingle with their friends. I did this for about 30-45 min. Then we started on activities! Each halloween party activity took about 30 minutes depending on how well the kiddos listened. They loved the build your own haunted house and it took up a good chunk of time! Each child had their own house to build and decorate. It was so much fun! I have the bingo activity linked along with the build your own dirt cake. These activities include lots of sugar so be warned. You can also find some good non sugar activities for your kiddos too! If I see any I will be sure to add them to this post.

What kind of food should I have at a Witches Brunch Halloween Party?

This is totally up to you and what your child likes but I opted for lots of catered and store bought items! We ordered a Chick-fil-a chicken mini platter, fruit platter, and also had halloween cookies. This year I will be having a lot more healthier options due to the kiddos last year being hyped up during the party. I also had a witches brew punch for the kids to sip on, but they didn’t love it, so I may skip this. I am going to be on the hunt for a fun drink option and will keep you posted.

Something we had the kiddos do that was an activity was building a pudding cup with crushed oreo, gummy worms, and some other items (we will be opting out of that this year to prevent sugar rushes). Also when planning be sure to remember food allergies.
