Today I wanted to share with you my goals for 2021. I am not an expert at writing goals for the new year, but there are a few things I try to keep in mind when writing them. I know when writing new goals, you want to make them attainable (realistic). Now don’t get this confused with making goals you can easily reach; we want goals that will challenge you! My friend told me a couple years ago if it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t make you grow. We want to grow and thrive! It is also a great idea to reflect on your year to see what you want to change and how you want to change it. Check out my End of the Year Reflection here.
Personal Goals:
Here are three goals I am choosing to accomplish personally for the 2021 year.
- Eat clean four out of the seven days out of the week. This is something I struggle with because your girl loves to treat herself, a little too much. Now, I will say I am not unhappy with how I look, I truly love my curvy body. However, I want to take care of my body to have a happy, healthy long life with my kiddos. I also want to model for them what it means to take care of your body.
- Wake up at 6:00 AM M-F. This is something I have recently started right before the holidays and it has really helped kick start my day. I start the day journaling and reading my Bible. After that I read emails, get things ready for the day that I may need for real estate, and create content for my blog. I also enjoy my cup of coffee in peace.
- Stay consistent with planning. This will sort of feed into my business goals as well. Having a plan each week for content, dinner, schedules really help our world go round. I have done an okay job at that this year but I can clean it up a bit.
Business Goals
If you’re new here I run my blog and I am also a real estate agent in the Middle TN area. These goals can transfer easily into both.
- Plan out my week and stick with it. Working from home provides flexibility, which is the reason why I left teaching. However, sometimes it provides too much flexibility. If I don’t have a plan or schedule in place I tend to work on the household chores which is not paying our bills LOL. A few bloggers I follow that help motivate to plan are Katie Snyder and Alexa Anglin. Their content is ALWAYS so well planned out and thought out. Makes me strive so hard to be a better blogger. LOL. So each Friday I plan to schedule out my next week (at least with content for the blog). Real Estate changes every minute every hour soooo we will do our best with that.
- Keep track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. Many times I swipe my card and again and again and before I know it I went way over my business budget for my blog. I want to be better at tracking my expenses and revenue. One to see how much I am bringing home, and two to see what is working for my business and what isn’t working.
- Grow my engagement on Instagram. This is something big to brands and important to me. I want to be sure I am bringing the best content to you all! This is where they can see if your followers trust what you’re sharing and stand by you. I am excited to see how far we bring this at the end of 2021.
- Last goal I have is for my creativity. I want to really create some magical, bright things whether it be my photos or blog post. This one is the one I am most excited about!
Financial Goals
Steven and I have some good goals next year for our finances. This will be my first calendar year working self employed. Which is really exciting but also kind of scary.
- Own an investment home. This is something we are really looking forward to. Best way to have passive income to ensure our retirement.
- Bring home 80K. OMG did she just say how much money she wants to bring home. Yes sure did. I was to double my teaching income (which won’t be hard because teachers don’t make squat) but my goal is to bring home 80K which is where being organized is going to be key!
- Pay off both of our cars. We don’t have much debt on them, but it will be nice when they are paid off and the bank doesn’t own them anymore.
- Start a savings account for both kiddos at our local bank. My best friends family did this for her as a kid and she was able to use it for her wedding. She talks about how much she loves that her family did that for her and I can’t wait to start that for my babies.
Of course some of these goals I will have to tweak and adjust. Now that I am writing them out I can refer back to them to keep myself accountable. It will be fun to see how far I have come in a year. Now it’s your turn!!
xo,
Amanda
