Last year I decided to make my junk drawers more organized. I am happy to say we have kept our drawers so organized with utilizing our drawer inserts from Amazon! Drawer inserts are a game changer when wanting to get your drawers organized. They are really affordable and create a “home” for those tiny items you need but always get lost in the junk drawer.

We love the holidays, but putting it away can be a daunting task. I love these organizers I grabbed to store all of my holiday decor. Tip: group all of decor together (small silver balls go together, reindeer ornaments go together, etc.).

Closet organization is HARD for me. It’s like all the stuff you don’t need all the time, but still needs to be easily accessible. I love to use wicker baskets, and have labels on the outside of them. These are great when you have summer/water items, extra linens, etc. I also love baskets in the kids playroom closet for toys I don’t want them to get out independently. This would be kinetic sand, puzzles, maybe messy craft items.
Why Being Organized is Important
Now before you think to yourself, man I wish I was as organized as Amanda, GIRL, I am not a super duper organized person at all. My house is messy most of the time, and things are not in the right place because we live in our house. However, everything does have a home in our house. Meaning when we do need to clean up we know exactly where it should go. Our rule in our home is, “if it doesn’t have a home it can’t live here”. I heard this quote from my pastor a few years ago, and man did it change my perspective. When your home, life, etc. aren’t organized you can feel messy and stressed. Having a spot for EVERYTHING in your house will allow you have more time for other things, and just will leave you less stressed. Another thing to remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day; start with one area at a time! I promise it’ll be worth it, and if you have kids it’ll help them for their future.
